Guidelines For Posting

Welcome : ) This blog is a place to share each month how God has truly touched our lives, either by meaningful co-in-see-dance ('coincidence') or by more direct and simple living. It is open to all contributors who post in a kind spirit.

The "guidelines" (oh so official, lol) for anyone drawn to posting here are as follows:

-Timing: Posts are once a month, though that post can always be added to if something feels it should be. There is a reason for this once a month posting focus here, and its simply that personally it was needed. As much as I love the thought of a daily gratitude journal or a detailed gratitude list and the like, I have found out the hard way that I can get overwhelmed by large things like that and so I will often find them start and then not finish. And so posting this main sort of post once a month in this vien just feels more managable to me...plus it might perhaps encourage thoughts around the past month to kind of gather and crystalize and simplify.

That time of the month for posting is ideally at the new moon. They actually can be any time during the current month/moon and that is fine, but my hope here is that there might be a stronger focus around the time of the new moon. Celebrating the new moon is an ancient biblical tradition, and part of the reason for this blog is to try and bring that back in a healing and tangible way. There are also reasons for personal healing around this, see here. And Sarah summarizes it all very well:

"....the celebration of the new moon (is) a joyous Jewish tradition of the blessings of God:

"...at your times of rejoicing—your appointed feasts and New Moon festivals—you are to sound the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, and they will be a memorial for you before your God. I am the LORD your God".(Numbers 10:10)

Paul's mentioning of New Moon celebration in Colossians shows that some Christians did continue this tradition. It just seemed a good time (as any) to continue this remembering of the blessings of God and the simple pleasures in life that we can offer up to God to glorify His Name and be thankful."

The new moon times and dates for this year are here. The upcoming new moon is:

July/August's New Moon
July 14
5:05 am PST

-Perspective: The goal here is not so much to "set intent" (personally I'm trying to get away from that, for more on that please see here) but rather to gratefully reflect and integrate, kind of like a gathering of fragrant roses that have been gifted. So the goal is to look back upon the last moon and share the below:

-Content: For the background of this please see here. And for the resulting focus, it's pretty simple really. Around each new moon (or another time if moved otherwise) simply write a post(s) (or gather links from previous posts of yours that stand out to you now) and send the link(s) to this blog in a comment for the active month/moon. I will then post them in the post of the "Love Letters From God" for that month/moon. The posts can be words or images or whatever comes, focusing on the following:

-How God showed His hand through the little co-in-see-dances (little often ends up being not so little at all!) this past month/moon (or another period if drawn strongly) in your life. Please be as tangible and concrete as you can, like you were writing in a journal--for that is what this is really, a collective journal to witness God's actual concrete hand in our days and nights.

-Ways this past month/moon (or another period if drawn strongly) that you have found yourself living more simply and directly--and how. Again, getting as tangible and concrete as possible would be ideal for this collective journaling. I suspect it is often that in living more simply and directly, even in simply reclaiming some seemingly small and simple pleasures, that our hearts and senses can open more to the healing co-in-see-dances, the love letters from God, that are truly before us...

-And last but not least...this is meant to be meaningful and fun : ) It's not a competition, and we arent here to try and outdo one another but rather to build together, kind of like co-creating a patchwork quilt...one love letter from God at a time...
