Well, my computer is acting very very strange. I heared there was a virus on the homesteading blog system and wonder if maybe it came from that. Becuase when I went to one (before i heared about the virus) I got weird pop ups. This also happened when I tried going to Plain and Simple's site a bit back, which i hadnt known she had closed yet, and i got a search page that quickly went to a spam thing about wanting to "clean" my computer. And this thing now, whereever its from or whatever it is, strange things are happening...

My internet explorer wont go to addresses i type in, it goes to a search page instead with many pop ups. I thought it was harmless at first, but then when I went to restore default settings to internet explorer both my antivirus and google told me a strange operation was being attempted. At first I thought they were just misreading my changing the settings as wrongly a bad thing, so I asked my antivirus to let the changes through anyway, and then a pop up asking me if it was okay to let these changes through kept popping up even after i said yes, and then my whole computer shut down, giving me a message it had to shut down to prevent a dangerous operation attempt on my computer, and wouldnt let me restart it till it had dumped its physical memory. And when i did restart it it said it had recovered from a serious error (the blue screen before had said pfn_list_corrupt). With a small ray of hope it had caught whatever it was, I went to internet explorer again to see, but its still the same, if i type in an address it brings me to a search page/pop up ads page still.

I set up a new browser (Opera) to use vs IE to see if that would help, and it seemed to work fine for awhile. But now the same problems are now on the Opera one too! And nothing I use (antivirus, anti spyware programs etc) seems to be able to catch it or even see it. Grrrrrrrr

I also worry about the new browser getting infected by importing my favorites (which i do need). And whatever this is, its not getting picked up by panda antivirus, spybot, adaware, or ewido (i've used 'em all--though a week or two ago my antivirus got behind on updates since i needed to renew it, so i had a vulnerable block back there till i took care of it, maybe thats when this whatever it is took root?). I dont have any techie support and the forums on the internet are like reading greek for me. Some stress free break this turned out to be, with this stuff happening (insert whatever sounds the bluebird uses to grumble here). Any advice for the looooost? It would be SO appreciated : )
